Hi! I'm Rohit — a music teacher, film composer, and performer teaching piano, guitar, ukulele, flute, recorder, vocals, and music production for over 7 years. Lessons happen wherever works best for you: my home studio in Parkdale, at your home across West Toronto, or online.I believe music is more than reading notes off a page. My lessons are built around how you learn, with rhythm games, melody games, and music you actually love. Whether you're after structured RCM/Trinity exam prep or just want to play your favourite songs for fun, you'll get a curriculum shaped around your goals, with practice work after every class. Not just classical music, I also teach jazz, blues, R&B, funk, soul, rock, pop, country...if you love it, we'll learn it from the inside out.
My background: Humber College Jazz Piano graduate, merit in Trinity London Grade 8 Piano (Classical & Jazz), and Music Scoring for Screen & Stage at Sheridan College. I also compose for film - including a few award-winning shorts.Kids from age 4, adults of every level - come as you are, and we'll make music that feels like yours.

🎹 Piano Lessons
The piano is music's home base — the best launchpad for any other instrument (singers, this is your secret weapon). Chords or sheet music, I'll make it easy — and finishing a piece earns you your favourite song next.
🎸Guitar Lessons
The campfire favourite — and the fastest route to songs you love. Strum acoustic, rip electric solos, or sing along to your own playing. Chords, tabs, riffs, and how to improvise your own solos.
🪕Ukulele Lessons
The friendliest first instrument — four strings, small hands welcome, real songs within your first few lessons. A perfect starting point for young kids (and a joyful pick-up for adults too).
🪈Flute and Recorder Lessons
A gentle way into music — recorder for the littlest beginners, flute for those ready to take the next step. Breath control, tone, and songs you'll actually enjoy playing, from day one.
🎧🎤 Vocals and Music Production Lessons
Train your voice, then take it to the studio. Breathing, pitch, and singing with confidence — plus recording with mics, building beats, and writing melodies in music software. From singing songs to making them.

🔹How does the free trial work?
It's a free 30-minute lesson, no obligation — a chance for us to meet, see what you're hoping to get out of lessons, and figure out if it's the right fit before you commit to anything.
🔹Do I need to already own an instrument?
Not for the trial — I have instruments at my studio. For ongoing lessons at home, we'll figure out what makes sense based on the instrument and your budget; I'm happy to point you toward good beginner options.
🔹Where do lessons happen?
My home studio in Parkdale, your home anywhere across West Toronto and downtown (Roncesvalles, High Park, Trinity Bellwoods, Liberty Village, Kensington Market, King West and beyond), or online — whatever works best for you.
🔹How much are lessons?
In-person lessons start at $37 for 30 mins ($70 for 60 mins). Prefer online? Virtual lessons start at $33 for 30 mins ($65 for 60 mins). Not sure which length is right for you? The free trial is a great way to find out — no pressure either way.
🔹How do I pay, and how often?
You can pay monthly or by term (3 months at a time) — whatever's easier for you. Lessons are paid in advance, or by the first of the month. I accept e-transfer, cheque, or cash.
🔹What's your cancellation policy?
I ask for at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule without charge. Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice are charged in full, since that time was held for you. And if I ever need to cancel, you'll get as much notice as possible and a make-up lesson or credit — fairness goes both ways.
🔹Do you teach exam prep, or just casual lessons?
Both! Some students want the structured route — RCM or Trinity exam prep, reading music, technique. Others just want to learn songs they love, purely for fun — and we're not limited to classical, either. Blues, R&B, funk, jazz, pop, hip hop, whatever you're into, we can dig into it. Most students land somewhere in between, and that's great too.
🔹What if I have no musical experience at all?
Perfect — that's most students. No prior experience needed for any instrument, at any age.
🔹How often are lessons?
Weekly is standard and what I'd recommend for steady progress, though we can talk through what fits your schedule.
🔹Can I switch instruments later?
Sure — especially common with younger kids figuring out what clicks. We can always adjust as you go.
🔹Do students get a chance to perform?
Yes! Twice a year, I organize a special concert at a local seniors' home — the residents love live music, and it's a genuinely meaningful experience for my students too, playing for an audience that truly appreciates it.
🔹Are adults welcome?
Absolutely — many of my students are adults, whether picking up an instrument for the first time or returning to one they played as a kid. Same free trial, same no-judgment approach, at whatever pace works for you.
🔹Can parents sit in on lessons?
Of course — parents are always welcome to sit in, especially with younger kids. Some children actually focus better solo, so we can figure out together what works best for your child.
